Active Content - An explanation

The default setting for Internet Explorer (and most other web browsers) is to block active content such as Java applets, Javascript code and Shockwave Flash animations.

This is to limit the effectiveness of computer viruses and other hacker activities. Unfortunately, it can also limit your enjoyment of the internet as it blocks all animations and scripts, regardless of their nature.

The www.ywebdesign.co.uk website contains no malicious software, nothing that is able to change your computers settings and nothing that could be used to steal information from you.

Therefore, in order to enhance your experience whilst using this website, we recommend you adjust your browser settings to permit active content. This can be acheived by either of these two methods:

Step 1    Step 2

This second method gives better results and it is achieved by , ,

clicking "Tools / Internet Options"

on the Internet Explorer window

selecting the "Security" tab,

clicking on "Trusted Sites"

and then "Sites"

add http://www.ywebdesign.co.uk
and click"Add"

untick "Require Server Verification"

and click "Apply"

This second method permits active content on all sections of the ywebdesign website.

As a final test, look at the square below:

If it's red, your browser is currently blocking active content.
If it's green, your browser is currently permitting active content.
